This is my son's computer. It won't turn on at all, apparently shut down by itself last night, didn't go into sleep mode. Have tried a couple things, unplugging the power cord from unit and wall. Holding power button for 5 seconds then trying to plug in and power on, still nothing. Before taking it to a professional, thought I'd check here first. I'm not that tech savvy to open it up and investigate, so any suggestions would be most appreciated b4 spending $$ to repair before possibly replacing. TIA.

Hi,
Your PC is about five years old (released for sale in May, 2016). This could be a power supply or motherboard issue. Or a component connected to the motherboard.
No way to quickly diagnose in a forum. You would have to swap in known good replacement components to find the bad part.
Having a local PC tech diagnose and replace the bad part could become expensive. The decision is: take a chance the fix will be cost effective or replace the PC.
