This desktop is kind of old. It’s never done this before.
It goes to a black screen that says “1720 Smart Hard Drive detects imminent failure. Failing drive: SATA0. Falling Attribute: #05” and to then press F1 to Boot.
After that it says “A Disc read error occurred. Press CTRL ALT DEL to restart.”
After it goes to a blue HP screen that says “press ESC for startup menu”.
It’s a continuous cycle that doesn’t change no matter what I press or look into. I ran a test and it said everything passed, then I’m right back to the black screens.
Please help!

Thank you for posting on the HP Support Community.
Don't worry as I'll be glad to help,
The issue could be with the Hard Drive, try testing it by running a Hard Drive Self Test. Power up the notebook, tap the F10 key on startup, and at the BIOS Setup Screen, select Diagnostics > Primary Hard Drive Self Test.
Refer to the article Testing a Hard Disk from the BIOS: https://support.hp.com/in-en/document/c00439024 By the end of the article you will be able to isolate the issue.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
