Hi @Gyokui,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It seems like your HP PC is stuck in a loop after a failed or incomplete BIOS update. This is a serious issue but often resolvable with proper steps. Here's a step-by-step guide to try and recover your system.

Check Power Supply and Connections

  • Ensure the PC has a stable power supply during the recovery attempts.
  • Disconnect any unnecessary peripherals (external drives, USB devices, etc.) except the keyboard, monitor, and power cable.

Attempt a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the computer and disconnect it from the power source.
  2. Hold the power button for 15-20 seconds to drain residual power.
  3. Reconnect the power source and try booting the PC again.

Access BIOS Recovery Mode

  • Force BIOS Recovery Mode:
    1. Turn off the computer.
    2. Insert the USB drive containing the BIOS recovery files (formatted to FAT32).
    3. Hold the Windows Key + B (or Windows Key + V on some models) and then press the Power button.
    4. Release the Power button but keep holding Windows + B until the BIOS recovery screen appears or beeps are heard.
    5. Follow the on-screen instructions to recover or reflash the BIOS.

Create a New BIOS Recovery USB Drive

  • Download the latest BIOS for your PC model from the HP Support Website.
  • Use another working PC to:
    1. Format a USB drive as FAT32.
    2. Run the downloaded BIOS file and extract it onto the USB drive (usually to a folder named HP_TOOLS or similar).
    3. Retry the BIOS recovery steps using this new drive.

Reseat CMOS Battery (Advanced)

If the above steps don't work, you can attempt to reset the BIOS manually:

  1. Open the PC (ensure it's powered off and unplugged).
  2. Locate the CMOS battery (a coin-cell battery on the motherboard).
  3. Remove it for 5-10 minutes to clear the BIOS settings.
  4. Reinsert the CMOS battery and power the system back on.

Prevention Tips

  • When updating BIOS in the future:
    • Ensure uninterrupted power (preferably use a UPS).
    • Avoid interruptions or shutdowns during the process.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
