Hi @Neemtreedental,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The issue you're facing, where your HP All-in-One PC repeatedly shows "login disabled" and asks you to wait for 2 hours, could be related to the system's lockout policy, Windows security settings, or a potential software glitch. Here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve this.
Boot into Safe Mode
- Step 1: Turn off your PC, then turn it back on. Once it starts, immediately press F8 (or Shift + F8) repeatedly to bring up the Advanced Boot Options menu.
- Step 2: Select Safe Mode with Networking.
- Step 3: In Safe Mode, try logging in. If successful, proceed with the following steps.
Check Login Settings in Windows
- Step 1: Open Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options.
- Step 2: Review the Password and Lockout settings. Ensure there are no unusual settings that could trigger the lockout.
- Step 3: If you have any third-party security software installed, disable or uninstall it temporarily to see if that resolves the issue.
Reset Windows Password Policies
If the system is locking out your login due to incorrect password attempts, resetting the policy may help.
- Step 1: In the search box, type Local Security Policy and open the app.
- Step 2: Navigate to Account Policies > Account Lockout Policy.
- Step 3: Set Account lockout threshold to a higher number (e.g., 10 invalid attempts) or disable it.
- Step 4: Set Account lockout duration to 0 to prevent future lockouts.
Check for Corrupted User Profile
If your user profile is corrupted, it might cause repeated login failures.
- Step 1: Create a new user account by going to Settings > Accounts > Family & other users > Add someone else to this PC.
- Step 2: Log in with the new user account to see if the issue persists.
Run a System File Check (SFC)
There may be system file corruption causing login issues.
- Step 1: Open Command Prompt as Administrator.
- Step 2: Type sfc /scannow and press Enter.
- Step 3: Let the process complete, and then restart the PC.

Update Windows and Drivers
Ensure that your PC is running the latest version of Windows and has the latest drivers installed.
- Step 1: Open Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.
- Step 2: Check for updates and install any available.
Disable Fast Startup
- Step 1: Open Control Panel > Power Options.
- Step 2: Click Choose what the power buttons do > Change settings that are currently unavailable.
- Step 3: Uncheck Turn on fast startup and save changes.
Perform a System Restore
- Step 1: If the issue began recently, use System Restore to roll back to a previous working state.
- Step 2: Go to Control Panel > Recovery > Open System Restore and choose a restore point.
If none of the above steps resolve the issue, you may need to reset or reinstall Windows to fix any underlying system issues.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
