Hi @Flygirl7771,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.
Thanks for reaching out—I'm sorry to hear that your HP PC isn’t turning on, especially after only 6 months of light use. Let’s go through a few steps to try and bring it back to life:
1. Check Power Source
- Make sure the power adapter is securely connected to both the wall outlet and the PC.
- Try a different wall outlet or power strip.
- If it’s a laptop, remove the battery (if removable) and try powering on with just the adapter.
2. Perform a Hard Reset
- Disconnect all external devices (USBs, printers, etc.).
- Hold the power button for 15–20 seconds to drain residual power.
- Reconnect the power and try turning it on again.
3. Observe LED Behavior
- If the power light blinks, count the number and pattern of blinks. HP uses blink codes to indicate hardware issues (e.g., 3 long + 2 short blinks = memory issue).
- Let me know the exact blink pattern if you see one.
4. Try a Different Charger (if laptop)
- If you have access to another compatible HP charger, try using it to rule out a faulty adapter.
I hope this helps.
Take care, and have an amazing day!
