After the screen goes "dark", how many minutes are you waiting before you declare that the computer has "crashed" ?

Does your computer have a lamp that lights-up whenever there is disk-drive activity? Is that lamp on, most of the time, or "randomly" blinking, or completely off?  If the lamp is completely off for a long time, it is likely that Windows has crashed.

Does your computer have a lamp adjacent to where the Ethernet cable connects to your computer?

Is that lamp blinking, to indicate that the computer is actively using the network connection?

How old is the disk-drive inside your computer? Could it be failing?

Reboot, and immediately press the ESC key, and choose to run the HP Hardware Diagnostics, to check your computer's hardware.

Are you running the "Windows 11 Insider Preview", or the official release of Windows 11?

If it is the preview, consider reinstalling the preview.
