Hi @TheDeviantOne,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding desktop not powering on!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
If your desktop won’t turn on, follow these troubleshooting steps to diagnose and fix the issue:
1. Check Power Supply & Connections
Ensure the power cable is properly plugged in to both the desktop and the wall socket.
Try a different power outlet.
If using a power strip or surge protector, bypass it and plug the desktop directly into the wall.
Check if the power supply switch (if present) is turned ON.
2. Look for Signs of Power
🔎 No lights, no fans, no noise? → Possible power supply issue.
🔎 Lights or fans turn on, but no display? → Possible hardware failure (RAM, motherboard, or graphics issue).
3. Perform a Hard Reset (Power Drain)
- Unplug the power cable.
- If it's a laptop, remove the battery (if possible).
- Hold down the power button for 30-60 seconds.
- Plug it back in and try turning it on again.
4. Check for Loose Internal Components
🔧 If comfortable, open the side panel and:
- Reseat RAM sticks (remove and reinsert them).
- Check if any cables inside the PC are loose.
- Ensure the graphics card is properly seated (if you have one).
5. Test with a Different Power Supply
If no power at all, the power supply (PSU) may have failed.
If possible, test with another PSU or check if yours is delivering power using a PSU tester or multimeter.
6. Check for Beeping Sounds or Error Codes
🔊 If the computer beeps when turning on, count the beeps and check the meaning in your motherboard’s manual.
Let me know what you’ve tried and what happens when you press the power button! 😊
I'm glad I could help! 😊 If this resolved your issue, please mark it as "Accepted Solution" and click "Yes" on "Was this reply helpful?"—your feedback not only keeps us going but also helps others find the solution faster! 👍✨
Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
