Hi @snjrie,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
When your HP All-In-One Desktop PC 24 does not boot up and only displays a blank screen with an LED indicator in the bottom corner, it could be due to several reasons. Here are some steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue.
Check for Loose Connections:
- Ensure that all cables, including power cables and display cables, are securely connected to the PC and monitor.
Restart the PC:
- Press and hold the power button on your HP All-In-One for about 10 seconds to force a shutdown. Then, turn it on again to see if it boots up.
Check for Indicator Codes:
- The LED indicator might be displaying a diagnostic code. Check the user manual or HP's website for your specific model to decipher the meaning of the indicator.
External Monitor Test:
- Connect your HP All-In-One to an external monitor. If the external monitor displays an image, it could indicate a problem with the built-in display.
Reseat RAM and Hard Drive:
- Turn off the PC, unplug it, and open the case if possible. Reseat the RAM modules and the hard drive (if it's not an SSD). Sometimes, loose connections can cause boot issues.
Perform a Hard Reset:
- If the PC is unresponsive, disconnect all peripherals, including the keyboard and mouse, and then perform a hard reset by unplugging the power cable, holding the power button for 15 seconds, and then plugging the power cable back in. Try turning it on again.
Check for BIOS/UEFI Updates:
- Visit HP's official website and check if there are any BIOS/UEFI updates available for your specific model. Sometimes, updating the BIOS can resolve boot issues.
Boot into Safe Mode:
- If you see any signs of life, such as the HP logo or a loading screen, try booting into Safe Mode by repeatedly pressing the F8 or F10 key during startup. Safe Mode loads only essential drivers and can help identify if a software issue is causing the problem.
Perform a System Restore:
- If you can access Safe Mode or the BIOS, consider performing a system restore to a point where the PC was working correctly.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
