Hi @MAGA26,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

A faint flicker or feeble light on your HP laptop when powering on usually points to a hardware or power-related issue. Here’s how to troubleshoot:

1. Check Power Supply

  • Ensure the charger and cable are working properly.
  • Try a different HP-certified adapter if available.
  • Confirm the charging light is steady (not blinking red/orange).

2. Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off the laptop and unplug the charger.
  2. Remove the battery (if removable).
  3. Press and hold the Power button for 15 seconds.
  4. Reconnect the charger (leave the battery out for now) and try powering on.

3. External Display Test

  • Connect the laptop to an external monitor via HDMI.
  • If the external display works, the issue is likely with the internal screen or its cable.

4. Check for LED Blink Codes

  • If Caps Lock or the power LED blinks in a pattern, note the sequence; it indicates a hardware failure (e.g., GPU, motherboard).

5. Run HP Diagnostics

  • If the screen shows nothing, press Esc repeatedly after power on, then F2 for diagnostics.
  • If diagnostics don’t appear, the issue may be with the motherboard or display panel.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
