Hi @Nabin34

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like you're encountering a Blue Screen of Death (BSOD) on your HP Pavilion. A blue screen usually means there's a critical issue with the operating system or hardware. Since you're not seeing any options to troubleshoot or diagnose, here are some steps you can follow to attempt to fix the issue:

1. Force Restart

  • First, try a hard restart to see if it resolves the issue. Hold down the power button for about 10-15 seconds until the laptop completely powers off, then turn it back on. Sometimes, a restart can reset any temporary errors.

2. Boot Into Safe Mode

If you’re still seeing the blue screen, you can try to boot into Safe Mode, which will load Windows with minimal drivers, potentially helping to diagnose or fix the issue.

  • For Windows 10/11:
    1. Turn on your laptop and immediately hold down the power button to turn it off after the Windows logo appears. Do this 3 times, and it should trigger the Automatic Repair screen.
    2. Select Advanced options > Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
    3. After restarting, you’ll see a list of options. Press 4 or F4 to boot into Safe Mode.
    4. If your laptop successfully boots into Safe Mode, try checking for recent changes (like Windows updates, new drivers, or installed programs) that may have caused the blue screen.

3. Check for Error Codes on BSOD

When the BSOD appears, look for an error code or a message. Common error codes like 0x0000007E or INACCESSIBLE_BOOT_DEVICE can help pinpoint the cause of the issue. If you can see an error code, try searching online for specific solutions based on that code.

4. Use Windows Recovery Options

If Safe Mode doesn’t work or you can't get into the system, you can try using Windows Recovery options to fix the issue:

  • Boot the laptop from a Windows recovery USB or Windows installation media (if you have one).
  • Choose Repair your computer instead of installing Windows.
  • Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options and try the following:
    • Startup Repair: This can automatically fix issues related to startup or booting problems.
    • System Restore: If you created a restore point, you can revert the system back to a previous working state.
    • Command Prompt: If you're comfortable with commands, you can try running tools like sfc /scannow to check for file system corruption or use chkdsk to check for hard drive issues.

5. Check the Hardware

  • If the problem persists, there might be a hardware issue. A faulty RAM module, hard drive, or motherboard can cause the BSOD to appear.
  • If you’re comfortable doing so, reseat the RAM or disconnect/reconnect storage devices to ensure they’re properly connected.
  • You can also run hardware diagnostics (available through HP’s built-in diagnostic tools) by pressing Esc or F2 as soon as you turn on the laptop to access the diagnostics menu.

6. Reinstall Windows (If All Else Fails)

  • As a last resort, you can reinstall Windows using a recovery USB or Windows installation media. Be aware this will wipe all data on your device, so only proceed with this option if you don’t mind losing your data or if you’ve backed it up.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
