My laptop is turning on as I can hear it booting up and the caps lock button is flashing but nothing is working. The battery is integrated so I can’t remove it.

Hi @Nicola60,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

A flashing caps lock button on an HP laptop usually indicates a hardware problem. The black screen and the noise could be caused by a number of issues, but here are a few steps you can take to try to troubleshoot the problem.

  • Disconnect all external devices and peripherals (such as a printer, USB drive, etc.) from your laptop and restart it.
  • Remove the battery from your laptop and unplug it from the power source. Then, hold down the power button for 30 seconds to drain any residual power from the system. Reconnect the battery and power cord, and try to turn on the laptop.
  • If you have recently installed any new hardware or software, try removing it and restarting the laptop.
  • If the above steps don't work, try connecting an external monitor to your laptop to see if you get a display on the external monitor. If you do, it may indicate a problem with the laptop's screen.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
