Hi @Raul19,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If your HP laptop is displaying the "Preparing Automatic Repair" message and then gets stuck on a black screen, it could indicate a problem with your operating system or the boot process. Here are a few steps you can try to resolve the issue.
- Perform a hard reset: Disconnect the power adapter and remove the battery (if it's removable). Press and hold the power button for about 15 seconds. Then, reconnect the power adapter and battery (if applicable) and try turning on the laptop.
- Check hardware connections: Ensure that all external devices, such as USB drives or external monitors, are disconnected from your laptop. Sometimes, an incompatible or faulty device can cause startup issues.
- Access the Advanced Startup Options: If the laptop is still stuck on the black screen, you can try accessing the Advanced Startup Options to troubleshoot the problem. Follow these steps: a. Turn on the laptop and immediately press the F11 key repeatedly until the "Choose an option" screen appears. b. On the "Choose an option" screen, select "Troubleshoot" > "Advanced options." c. From the advanced options, you can try options like "System Restore," "Startup Repair," or "Startup Settings" to diagnose and repair the issue.
- Reset or reinstall the operating system: If the above steps don't resolve the problem, you may need to consider resetting or reinstalling the operating system. This will erase all data on your laptop, so it's important to have a backup if possible. You can follow the instructions provided by HP or refer to their support website for detailed steps specific to your laptop model.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
