@Smarty7,

Welcome to our HP Community forum!

If your PC is not displaying anything after tweaking the XMP (Extreme Memory Profile), it may be that the changes you inadvertently made to the memory settings are causing instability. Here's how you can troubleshoot and potentially fix the issue:

1. Reset BIOS Settings

  • Restart the PC and press F10 repeatedly during boot to access the BIOS setup.
  • Once in BIOS:
    1. Look for an option to Load Setup Defaults or Reset BIOS to Default Settings (usually under the "Exit" tab or a dedicated Reset section).
    2. Save and exit the BIOS (press F10 to save changes).

2. Clear CMOS

  • If the BIOS reset fails, clear the CMOS to reset all settings:
    1. Turn off the PC and unplug it from the power outlet.
    2. Open the side panel to access the motherboard.
    3. Locate the CMOS battery (a small coin-cell battery).
    4. Remove the CMOS battery for about 5 minutes, then reinsert it.
    5. Reassemble the PC and try booting.

3. Check RAM Modules

  • Improper RAM settings or faulty modules could prevent display output:
    1. Power down the PC, unplug it, and open the case.
    2. Remove the RAM modules and reseat them securely.
    3. If you have multiple sticks, try booting with one at a time to identify potential issues.

4. External Display Test

  • If resetting doesn’t help, connect your PC to a different monitor or TV using another cable to rule out monitor or cable issues.

5. Boot Using BIOS Flashback (if supported)

  • Some HP PCs support BIOS recovery or flashback:
    1. Download the latest BIOS for your motherboard from the HP support website using another device.
    2. Create a BIOS recovery USB stick and follow the instructions to restore or update the BIOS.

6. Contact HP Support

  • If you’re still unable to resolve the issue, HP’s support team should provide assistance with further diagnostics or repairs. HP phone support is typically available at one-800-HP-INVENT.

Let me know if you'd like more specific details on any of these steps!

Kind Regards,

HP Hana motherboard (SSID: 8876)
HP Oasis motherboard (SSID: 886B)

I believe I have the HP Blizzard L motherboard, I'm pretty sure I got to remove the graphics card to access it though. So all I have to do is remove it and put it back in?

Thanks, Smarty

@Smarty7,

That is affirmative: remember to unplug your PC from power, push in your power button for 4 seconds in order to release any residual power, open up your PC, remove your graphics card, and remove the CMOS CR2032 button battery for 5 minutes, and then reinsert it.

Here is a YouTube instructional video how to remove/reinstall the CMOS battery: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S9hyEPTFR10&t=38s&ab_channel=MacCoyzkie.

@Smarty7,

Did you watch the YouTube video link I provided how to remove/reinsert your CMOS battery?

Here is another video: How To RESET Your PC BIOS Or Change The CMOS Battery.

If your CMOS battery slot is somehow different, please take a picture and let me take a look at it.

Update: I've reset the CMOs and moved around the RAM sticks, Still no display.

@Smarty7,

That is interesting.

Anyway, seems like you are a novice when it comes to PC troubleshooting, and I don't want you to damage your PC.  At this juncture in time, I would strongly recommend taking your PC to a local PC repair shop and getting an estimate how much they would charge you troubleshooting it -or if your PC is still under HP's warranty, to contact HP and see what they can do for you.
