Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)
I want to use Disk Sanitizer or Secure Erase, but neither is present in my BIOS.
It's an EliteDesk 800-G1 Version 2.15.1236 (I tried to add it to add to my profile, but my s/n was not accepted.)
So what do I do now?

Hi @MajesticBells ,
Hope you doing well
To securely erase or sanitize the hard drive on your HP EliteDesk 800 G1, you can try below mentioned steps :
- Please ,find the below bios simulator for 800 series
https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06714311.pdf
Under page number 2, select security section and go to hard drive utilites then:
If you are not getting this secure erase then :
-
- Update the BIOS:
- Visit the HP Support website and enter your product details manually (you can use “HP EliteDesk 800 G1” if the serial number is not accepted).
- Download and install the latest BIOS version available for your model.
- After updating, restart the device and check if the Secure Erase option appears under Security > Hard Drive Utilities in BIOS. https://h10032.www1.hp.com/ctg/Manual/c06714311.pdf
- Alternative Option – HP Cloud Recovery
- If the options are still not available, you can perform a secure data wipe using HP Cloud Recovery Tool or other secure data erasure utilities like Windows Reset (Remove Everything). https://support.hp.com/za-en/document/ish_4511095-4511141-16 HP Cloud recovery tool is available in microsoft store ,once you install it, you can search in widows search and run as admin
- Update the BIOS:
Hope this helps solve your issue
