Yes, the disc did work. I am using Ubuntu right now on my laptop. I had to restart my laptop and press F12 to get to the boot menu and found the CD with the Ubuntu ISO. I can revert back to the Windows 10 correct lol.

OK, just checking. That more or less proves this problem PC has a hardware problem, if it will not boot the Linux live. It is a pretty plain computer with no video card. I suppose you could try installing a minimal video card to see if that is the problem. something that is just barely better than the onboard graphics but without going over the power supply rating of 220w. Possibly try the Nvidia GT 710
