Hello all,
my PC crashed yesterday. During normal use the picture froze and only a horrible sound was played. Mouse and keyboard stopped responding. So I was forced to press the power button.
Since then, I no longer get a picture displayed at startup.
The green power LEDs are on. The fans of the CPU and the graphics card are spinning. The hard disk also starts up.
After completely dusting off the case, I tried the following steps:
- CMOS reset -> no change
- Change to another monitor -> no change
- Change the graphics card connector DVI/HDMI/Display Port -> no change
- Using the OnBoard HDMI port -> no change
- graphics card exchanged -> no change
- RAM completely removed -> beep code on startup
I have not removed the CPU yet. I don't know exactly how this works and I don't really dare to do it.
Unfortunately I have no other CPU, RAM and power supplies to test.
Does anyone have a tip for me, what could be the cause of the problem?
With kind regards

Hi
You have done many troubleshooting steps required to find the problem. Very good!
Try only connecting a monitor to see how it goes. Then disconnect SATA and M.2 devices. This is reducing the PC to a minimum configuration required to get a successful POST.
Try integrated video if you have a Ryzen "G" CPU.
You could try each stick of factory RAM, don't know how many sticks of RAM HP provided at the factory, in each memory slot or try a different, compatible, stick of RAM in each memory slot.
HP uses two different MBs for the generic product number you have provided. And quite a few specific product numbers. I don't know your PC's specific factory configuration using PC TG01-0000a (6GY67AV) https://support.hp.com/us-en/product/hp-pavilion-gaming-desktop-pc-tg01-0000a/37874510/model/3832287...
Now you are down to the power supply, the CPU, or the motherboard. The front/rear audio and front/rear USB are integrated in the MB.
Contact HP if in warranty at https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact/help/desktop

Hello Bill,
thank you very much for your quick reply. 🙂
Here already a few feedbacks to your tips.
* According to the sticker on the case, it's a Ryzen CPU, but whether a "G" I don't know. Is there anywhere to tell without removing it? The HDMI port on the MB was sealed with a dust cap. But that probably doesn't mean anything.
* There is only one RAM memory bar, but 2 slots. I'll put it in the other one tonight to test.
* Do you have a clue for me where I can tell which MB it is? I haven't been able to find a print so far, but I can't easily see all the locations either.
* I will take the PC to work and remove the CPU together with a colleague. Maybe this will give me some more clues.
I'll try your other tips after work and get back to you.
Thank you!

Hi
My pleasure.
The HDMI cap means you have discrete graphics installed. It can also mean the AMD CPU installed in your PC does not have integrated graphics.
This site, https://support.hp.com/us-en/computer has tips on finding the specific product number and a video on this topic. Scroll down to "Identify your computer for manuals and specific product information". Select "Desktop" for options.
Don't reveal the serial number in the forum.
We can identify the MB and the CPU if you provide a specific HP product number.
Two possible motherboards/CPU options are at the following sites:
All Erica2 MB CPU options have integrated Radeon graphics.
