This is a brand new system and I believe the Geforce RTX 5070 is the issue, as I have tried an RTX 3060 and the workstation works normally updated all drivers via HP Image Assistant . Issue I have is not getting the HP slash screen so cannot see options to enter BIOS, choose boot device or start menu. The monitor displays only when Windows is loading and it is obviously picking up the driver. The WS has a 700W PSU so should be adequate. I have also changed the PCIE 16x slot from auto to Gen 4, but made no change. Hoping someone has come across this issue and solved it

Hi @Farg04,

If your HP workstation is only displaying output once Windows loads when using the GeForce RTX 5070, it's likely a compatibility or configuration issue associated with the BIOS or GPU settings. Here are steps and considerations to help resolve this issue:

Steps to Troubleshoot:

  1. BIOS Settings:

    • Reset BIOS Settings: Try resetting your BIOS to default settings. This might help if there is an incorrect configuration causing the issue.
    • Update BIOS: Ensure that your BIOS is up-to-date. Download the latest version from the HP Support page.
    • PCIe Slot Configuration: Since changing the PCIe configuration to Gen 4 did not resolve the issue, try setting auto-detection or testing other configurations (Gen 3 or Gen 2) to see if that impacts the display during boot.
  2. Graphics Card Compatibility:

    • Test Other Ports: Ensure the current output port on the GPU works by testing other available ports (HDMI, DisplayPort) on the RTX 5070.
    • Check for Firmware Update: Some graphics cards have firmware updates that can enhance compatibility and functionality. Check with NVIDIA to see if a firmware update is available for the RTX 5070.
  3. Connect to Integrated Graphics (If Available):

    • If your workstation has integrated graphics, try connecting the monitor to the motherboard's port to see if you can access the BIOS screen. This can be done with the discrete card installed in some systems.
  4. Use a Different Monitor or Cable:

    • Test using a different monitor or cable to rule out any issues with those components.
  5. Test with Another GPU:

    • As you mentioned the RTX 3060 works fine, you might want to verify if the issue specifically relates to how the RTX 5070 communicates with the system firmware during POST (Power On Self Test).
