@Leratobanda, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding booting issue!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

A white flashing screen on boot usually indicates a display, driver, or hardware issue. Try these troubleshooting steps:

Perform a Hard Reset

  1. Turn off your laptop completely.
  2. Disconnect the power adapter and remove any external peripherals (USB devices, external monitors, etc.).
  3. Press and hold the power button for 15 seconds to drain residual power.
  4. Reconnect the power adapter and try turning it on.

If the issue persists, proceed to the next step.

Boot into Safe Mode

  1. Turn off the laptop.
  2. Power it on and force shutdown as soon as you see the HP logo (repeat 3 times).
  3. On the fourth boot, the Windows Recovery Menu should appear.
  4. Go to Advanced options > Startup Settings > Restart.
  5. Select Enable Safe Mode.

If it boots into Safe Mode, update your display drivers:

  • Right-click on Start > Device Manager.
  • Expand Display Adapters.
  • Right-click your graphics driver and select Update driver.
  • Restart the laptop.

Check for Display Issues

Try connecting an external monitor via HDMI or VGA. If the external display works fine, your laptop screen might be faulty and need replacement.

Perform System Repair

  1. Boot into the Windows Recovery Menu (follow Step 2).
  2. Go to Advanced Options > Startup Repair.
  3. Let Windows attempt to fix boot issues.

Try a System Restore

If the problem started recently, restoring Windows to a previous working state may help.

  1. Boot into Windows Recovery Menu.
  2. Select System Restore and choose a restore point before the issue started.

Reset Windows (Last Resort)

If none of the above steps work, resetting Windows might be necessary.

  1. Boot into Windows Recovery Menu.
  2. Select Reset this PC and choose Keep my files to prevent data loss.

Let me know if it helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
