Power to computer is fine. When I return to my computer after leaving to download a game overnight, the computer doesn't respond.

Power swtich doesn't even work so I have to turn off at the wall!

I've updated the BIOS. Run all updates with HP Support assistant and its still happening.

I've had to adjust my autopower/sleep mode settings to stop me from having to turn off at wall.

Your system may not be able to sleep due the some application or device driver that is vetoing the shutdown. Possibly your download manager or app (torrent?) does not close when the download finished and the system cannot sleep.  Similar to a message frequently see at shutdown that has to be answered: "this app is preventing shutdown - shutdown anyway?"

You might look in event viewer under system and applications to see if there is a warning "xxx vetoed shutdown" or words to that effect.  A problem arises in that it cannot sleep but cannot wake up since it never went to sleep.  A hard reset if required which is same as pulling the power cord.

I suspect if you select hibernate instead of sleep the problem will go away.
