OMEN by HP 40L Gaming Desktop PC GT21-1000i (6C1Q7AV)

Hi, My pc was working fine first thing this morning, and I noticed there was a Windows 11 update, I updated and restarted the it, but it now shows a bitlocker screen asking me to add the recovery key, I got the key from my Microsoft account and entered it, but it dos not accept it. I have tried to recover  but no joy as it says there is no drive. Anyone else had this issue? Or any suggestion on how to resolve please,  is the SSD now locked for ever?

cheers

Greetings @DMS22

Welcome to the HP Forum.

The W11 update must have included a BIOS update.

A BIOS update should only be done when Windows Device Encryption (BitLocker) is off.

You have lost access to the system drive and the data on this drive is gone.

You can reinstall W11 using the HP Cloud Recovery option. Or you can do a clean W11 install if you are interested.

My suggestion is to turn off BitLocker, if you don't need it, after reinstalling W11.

Regards
