Hi @Kimani4,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

If your HP Omnibook 5 is stuck in a boot loop and previous attempts, such as resetting, booting in safe mode, and system restore, haven't been effective, there are several steps you can take to try and resolve the issue.

Here's a detailed guide:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

A hard reset can often resolve boot loop issues by clearing temporary data that may be causing the computer to malfunction.

  • Turn off the computer.
  • Disconnect the computer from any docking station or port replicator.
  • Remove any externally connected peripheral devices such as USB storage devices, external displays, and printers.
  • Unplug the AC adapter.
  • If the battery is removable, take it out. For non-removable batteries, you can skip this step.
  • Press and hold the power button for at least 15 seconds.
  • Reconnect the AC adapter (and the battery if it was removed).
  • Turn on the computer.

2. Reset BIOS to Default Settings

Occasionally, an incorrect BIOS setting can cause boot issues. Resetting to the default can resolve this.

  • Reboot the computer and immediately press the F10 key.
  • Navigate to the Main tab and select Restore Defaults.
  • Save the changes and exit.

3. Reseat Memory and Storage Devices

Loose connections can often cause boot issues.

  • Power off the computer and disconnect all power sources.
  • Open the service door and reseat the memory modules.
  • Check all drive connections as well.

4. Test with Minimum Configuration

To determine if a specific component is causing the issue, remove all non-essential hardware.

  • Boot the computer with only the essential components that were included in the factory configuration.
  • Disconnect external devices and components added after purchase.
  • If the computer boots correctly with a minimum configuration, reinstall components one by one to identify the faulty hardware.

5. Check for Software Conflicts

Ensure all drivers and software are up-to-date from the HP website.

  • Use Windows Update and HP Support Assistant to check for updates.
  • If you can boot into Windows, roll back to a previous driver if a recent update caused the issue.

6. Advanced Repair Tools (if accessible)

If the boot loop persists, consider using Microsoft’s Advanced Recovery Tools via Windows installation media.

  • Boot from Windows installation media and select Repair Your Computer.
  • Navigate to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options for system repair utilities.

If these steps do not resolve the boot loop issue, contacting HP support for further assistance or visiting an authorised service centre may be necessary.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
