Hello, I recently replaced my motherboard in my old HP Compaq 8100 Elite CMT and the power supply but saw I get a 515 error indicating no power supply fan connected (not my issue) and says f1 to continue. I decided to do some research and saw you can put a piece of wire from pin 2 on the p2 connecter to the 2nd pin on the cpu fan connecter. I did this but accidentally put the wire on the wrong cpu fan connecter (12v pin) and when turned on got a buzz from the speaker and a green light on the front with no other signal of life even when power button pressed. I decided to take the power supply out and put the original one in and also to take out my wire from the pins. After then turning it on I get full fan speed as soon as it’s plugged in and no response from power button or display. I have ruled out the ram and cpu and drives but I think its something to do with logical chip on the motherboard. Can anyone confirm that its the motherboard?
