Hi,

About once a week when I boot up the PC I get a screen full of scrambled colours and the PC does not boot into windows.

If I turn it off and on again, it works fine.

Please help.

Thanks

Hi,

Possible causes:

Hardware, restart the PC, Tap "ESC". Run system and component tests.

System file corruption, Run Microsoft System file Checker (Link).

Hardware drivers. Update the graphics driver. Your PC's download site (Link) has newer 2021 drivers available for Intel, AMD, and Nvidia.

Intel management engine and chipset drivers are also available. A BIOS update is available. Proceed with caution. You bear the risk if any of the updates cause a problem.

Hello,

Thanks for the reply, I've tried all that already.

Its strange that it only happens occasionally.

Hi,

You're very welcome.

That is strange.

Try a different video cable or a different monitor.

I would probably go full ballistic, back up data - reinstall the operating system if nothing else works. Do you have a known good backup OS image for quick recovery?

Hi,

Build is already new and has been checked.

Will try new cable when it happens again or try other video port.

Thanks
