HP Compaq Elite 8300 Base Model Small Form Factor PC

Me and my dad worked on this pc for a while. We received an old pc with some fairly good parts from my uncle which we wanted to swap out for the ones in my pc. So we took everything out, my hard-drive, GPU, CPU, SSD, RAM, and a few wires we needed. Then we find out that the other PC's motherboard is fried and we basically can't use any of the parts. (3 hours of work for nothing, yay) I put everything back in my old case, but then the PC doesn't boot. I make sure everything is plugged in, powered and connected but still nothing. I've taken everything out and back in again, but still nothing. Upon boot, the PC does multiple things. Either, it gives me 5 beeps with no red lights, and then turns its fans on max until I turn it off, or boots, but bluescreens me instantly saying the PC needs a repair. What seems to make a difference here is my SSD and hard-drive. My dad switched all my system files to my SSD to make the PC faster (I think), but I don't really know if it changes anything. I've tried booting with only the hard drive plugged in, with only the SSD, but no matter what it always gives me the same thing: 5 beeps and maxed out fans. I don't know what my father did to be able to get it to boot and then blue-screen, but whatever it was I can't replicate it.

Please help, I'm a 15 year old boy deprived of video games, this is horrible

Hi:

There is a problem with the PC's memory.

Please see the troubleshooting guide, Appendix A, page 58 for how to troubleshoot the 5-beep code error.

I don't think its that. The red light thing isn't happening, its only the beeping. Also, I've tried everything under the sun for my RAM sticks, since I have 8, and I don't think it's that either.

from what you say you may have several problems
configuration of the failed SSD, impossible to restart with!
If the HDD is not erased, not modified, then it should be possible to reboot with !

There is a small nuance, with the manual, and indication of the problem, and sometimes we just have the beeps, not the LED, and that won't change anything
unfortunately, the manuals do not always indicate all the possibilities, if there is a difference
So here it says:

Red Power LED flashes five times, once every second, followed by a two second pause.
Beeps stop after fifth iteration but LEDs continue until problem is solved

Pre-video memory error.

CAUTION: To avoid damage to the DIMMs or the system board, you must unplug the computer
power cord before attempting to reseat, install, or remove a DIMM module.
1. Reseat DIMMs.
2. Replace DIMMs one at a time to isolate the
faulty module.
3. Replace third-party memory with HP
memory.
4. Replace the system board

The question is : Pre-video memory error.

is it just the memory, or a problem with the video memory, it is not explicit

You must try the bare minimum, processor, a memory module (then another if the same beep) if a graphics card, try without if it is possible with this model!

as we can see, if nothing helps:

4. Replace the system board

you could have simply damaged the motherboard, during the manipulations!
