Hello Community; I have a desktop PC with OS of Windows 10 Home.
When I turn off my PC, when not in use, I shut the PC down > click on start>click on power>click on SHUT DOWN which is the correct procedure I understand.
When I want to reuse the PC, I press the ON/OFF button on the front of the PC BUT the PC will not turn or boot up.
Then I have to un plug the power cord from the PC, I hear a click from the PC, then I replace the power cord back in the back of the PC , ONLY THEN will the PC turn on/boot up.
Could this be an indication that something is wrong with the PC ??.
Thanks for any information and help with this problem.

BeemerBiker;
I could not determine where the click was coming from, so I changed what the power switch does, it wakes the PC up from the sleep mode.
Thank you so much for the help.
God Bless

If the click you hear comes from the power supply then probably a physical problem with the power supply.
If the noise comes from the hard drive that indicates a shutdown problem possibly software (driver) related and not the power supply.,
Look in the event viewer under both system and applications for errors such as "xxx vetoed the shudown" or timeouts where something is phoning home and cannot make a confection.
In the meantime replace the power switch setting: type "powercfg.cpl" in the windows search and change shutdown to hibernate.
I assume you have pressed ESC and successfully run the HP diagnostics
