Hi @flredneck,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

The HP Pavilion 27-d0044 All-in-One typically comes with a wireless keyboard and mouse that use a pre-paired USB dongle (often called a “nano receiver”) plugged into the PC. Here’s what you need to know:

Can You Get Another Mouse That Works With the Built-In Dongle?

  • No, most HP wireless mice and keyboards are paired at the factory to their specific dongle. They do not support universal pairing like Bluetooth unless your mouse is Bluetooth-enabled.
  • If your original mouse was using the HP dongle, a random HP wireless mouse will not automatically pair with that dongle.

Your Options:

  1. Replace with HP Combo Set
    • The easiest solution is to buy an HP wireless keyboard + mouse combo that comes with its own dongle.
    • Example: HP 230 Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Combo.

  2. Use Bluetooth Mouse
    • Your HP Pavilion 27-d0044 supports Bluetooth.
    • You can buy any Bluetooth mouse and pair it directly without using the dongle.

  3. Order Original HP Mouse
    • If you want the exact factory-paired mouse, you’ll need to order the replacement from HP Parts Store using your product number.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
