I am pleased to report that I fitted the replacement fan and, having now been running for several days, appears to have corrected the fault with my desktop PC.

I bought two HP Pavilion 570 desktops and both had the same cpu fan failure within 1 month of each other.

I found it very difficult to source a replacement part and ended up stripping one out of an old Dell PC i Had and it has worked fine ever since.

For the second PC I have had to purchase a replacement and found there to be very poor availability of this part.

I have now ended up buying a refurbished part from ebay.

 

I wish HP would admit they have a faulty batch of CPU fans and came clean.
