hp compaq elite sff pc gives 5 beeps at startup continues to run but processor overheats have to switch it off cannot get access to bios can this be a processor problem

Hi:
According to the troubleshooting guide, it is a memory or a system board problem.
Appendix A, page 58, has the steps to troubleshoot the 5-Beep code error.
