Hey guys, so I have an hp envy 750-114. I upgraded the chip to an i7 as the hp website said was ok but now my pc is not displaying anything. Also when I do a hard shut-off it only stays of for about 5 seconds. Any help would be appreciated.

According to the CPU upgrade spec, the i5 and i7 are all "GT2" graphics while the i3 and slower are HD530 or earlier
Possibly you need the 2018 HD Intel drivers for windows 10x64 build 1803
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp92001-92500/sp92178.exe
that above assumes you can run windows such as safe mode to allow driver install.
It is also possible that your have an early release motherboard and its bios does not support the i7 series.
Put the old CPU back in and boot into the bios
Make a note of the ROM ID of your bios and download the matching newer bios, if any, from here
(select windows 10 64 bit. I assume you listed 32bit by mistake)
;pick one of the following after they show up
I looked at several of the bios release, the history, and it seems there were intel microcode changes made which indicates newer CPUs
Be very careful to avoid getting heat sink compound on the motherboard pins. A suction device such as used to unscrew small light bulbs can be dampened and use to lift the chip out of the socket.
