I mistyped the email I created when I created it and had to change my phone number to recover the password and my pin stopped working due to security upgrade recently so I am locked out of my go all in one desktop that I’ve never been able to access the outlook account on how do I reset my computer without losing my files?…. This saddens me but I have been neeeding to do this because I haven’t had full functionality because I can access my Microsoft account

Hi @Kizzielynn,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand how frustrating it is to be locked out of your HP All‑in‑One desktop because of a mistyped Microsoft account email and PIN recovery issues. The good news is that you can reset Windows without losing your files, but you’ll need to use the right recovery path.

Use Microsoft account recovery

Even if the email was mistyped, try recovering via your phone number.

Once you regain access, you can sign back in and your PIN will work again.

Safe Mode reset

Restart > hold Shift while clicking Restart.

Go to Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.

Boot into Safe Mode, then create a new local account. This lets you log in and keep files intact.

Windows Reset – Keep Files

If recovery fails, use Reset this PC.

Go to Troubleshoot > Reset this PC > Keep my files.

This reinstalls Windows but preserves your personal files (documents, photos, etc.). Apps will need reinstalling.

I hope this helps

Take care and have an amazing day ahead! 🚀
