HP ENVY Desktop - TE01-1177c
Microsoft Windows 11

Hey, a few days ago the power partially failed in my apartment while my HP Envy Desktop was on.  I have a surge protector, but evidently it was only getting partial power to it for a good few hours and had a crash when I tried waking the machine up.

Long story short, now I can't boot up the machine.  Every time I turn it on, I get three long beeps followed by three short beeps.  I can't seem to access the HP Beep Code document, but another post here suggests it's a graphics card failure.  I already removed and reseated my graphics card, am I going to have to replace it or is there another potential cause I should investigate first?

Hi @ShadowXXVII

Welcome to the HP Forum.

A 3:3 error code is a potential graphics chip failure.

Your PC's specs at this Site reflect you have an Intel 10700F CPU which does not have integrated graphics. So you can't try onboard graphics

If possible, I would try a different discrete graphics card before buying a new card to verify only the current graphics card has failed. Other components could also have been damaged.

Thanks for your answer @Bill_To,

Unfortunately I don't have another graphics card I could use at this time.  I'm considering buying a cheap graphics card at this time just to test and make sure no other systems are damaged, but would you know if there was any other things I could do for testing purposes?

Hi @ShadowXXVII

My pleasure.

Test the MB with a multi-meter. Or have a local PC Tech do this.

You will know if you have other component problems after trying a different graphics card.

The power surge could have affected the power supply or other components.

Hi,

The repeated beeps you're encountering might indicate a graphics card issue, as you've already tried reseating it. However, before assuming it's solely the graphics card, it's worth checking other components like RAM or ensuring all connections are secure. If the problem persists, considering a replacement or seeking professional assistance might be the next step.,.

Thanks
