I noticed that the 800 G3 Mini PC has an option in the BIOS (under Advanced -> Power Management Options) called "Power On from Keyboard Ports".
According to the Maintenance and Service Guide for that model, this is what that does:
"When enabled, this feature allows a key press to power on the system when it is off (S5 state). If using a USB keyboard, it must be plugged into one of the rear ports labeled with the keyboard icon. Default is disabled."
This would be quite useful for us for the users that have their PCs mounted under the desk so that they don't have to contort themselves every morning so I tried to enable this.
But even after setting that to "Enabled" and plugging in the USB keyboard in one of the dedicated keyboard ports in the back, if I switch off the PC and press random keys, it will not turn on. The description in the service guide isn't that clear whether it's supposed to work with any key, or a special key.
Do I need to press a specific key for this to work? Or will this not work with a regular 102 key keyboard and needs some special keyboard with a dedicated "Power On" key?
