Power to all in one desktop cb1xxx, touchscreen, but screen black and no power to wired keyboard or mouse. Both work on another computer (laptop). I tried a Dell keyboard (wired) that works on laptop but not on hp all in one. Computer is 2022 with Windows 11 Home.

@4SP, Welcome to HP Support Community,

Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue

Check the Power Supply

Make sure the power cable is properly connected, and the power button is pressed (you should see some lights or hear fan noise).

Plug the All-in-One into a different wall outlet or power strip to ensure the current one is working.

Sometimes the power button itself can get stuck or malfunction. Make sure it's functioning as intended.

Force Restart

Turn off the computer completely by holding the power button for 10-15 seconds.

Unplug the power cable and wait for about 30 seconds to 1 minute.

Plug it back in and try turning it on again.

Boot into Safe Mode

If you see any signs of power (lights, fans, etc.), but just a black screen:

Force restart your computer 3 times in a row. On the third restart, Windows should trigger the Recovery Mode.

Once in Recovery Mode, choose Troubleshoot > Advanced Options > Startup Settings > Restart.

After restarting, you should see a list of startup options. Choose to boot into Safe Mode with Networking.

If successful, this indicates a software or driver issue.

Check BIOS Settings

It’s possible that the display output is misconfigured in the BIOS, or the USB ports are disabled.

To access BIOS:

Turn off the PC.

Turn it back on and immediately start pressing the F10 key repeatedly.

Once in BIOS, look for options to reset to default settings or check any settings related to USB Configuration or Display Settings.

External Keyboard and Mouse Issue

Since the Dell keyboard worked on the laptop but not the HP All-in-One, it could indicate a USB port issue.

If possible, try a wireless keyboard and mouse to see if they work (if you have USB dongles).

If wireless devices work, the issue could be related to the All-in-One's USB drivers or ports.

Update or Reinstall Drivers

If you get the display working again (either through Safe Mode or by connecting to an external monitor), check for any driver updates, particularly for:

Display drivers

USB drivers

Chipset drivers

I hope this helps.

Please feel free to reply here if you have any questions or if you need further clarification on any of the steps.

Take care and have a good day.
