Power button suddenly just stopped turning on PC.  Blinks once and then nada.

Welcome to the HP Forum.

 

This HP Site lists common POST error blink and error beep codes for consumer HP Desktop PCs. There is no error code listed for one blink.

 

So I don't know what is happening.

 

Try disconnecting from AC power. Depress and hold down the power button a few times to drain residual power from the MB.

 

Test for a POST again.

 

I don't know, maybe the power supply is in trouble. EDIT: Or you have an electrical fault with the MB or any component connected to the MB.
