Hi @Jay834,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand how urgent this is with your college exams tomorrow, and I’ll do my best to help you get the system running again.

Based on your description, the power light turning on briefly and then shutting off with no display at all, this can be related to corrupted BIOS settings, a hardware initialization issue, power delivery, or an internal component not completing POST (Power-On Self-Test).

Please try these steps:

1. Perform a Hard Reset

  • Turn the PC OFF
  • Disconnect the power cable and all USB/accessories
  • Hold the Power button for 60 seconds
  • Connect only the power cable and try turning it ON

2. Try BIOS Recovery

  • Turn the PC OFF
  • Hold Windows + B (or Windows + V)
  • While holding the keys, press the Power button for 2–3 seconds
  • Release the Power button, but continue holding the keys for 10–15 seconds

If the BIOS Recovery screen appears, allow it to complete.

3. Check for signs of hardware activity

While turning ON, check for:

  • Fan spinning
  • Blinking lights
  • Beep sounds
  • Caps Lock response

If you notice any blinking or beep pattern, let me know exactly what happens so we can identify the hardware issue quickly.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
