The causes can be many, a damaged Windows system file, in that case you have to reinstall Windows, or it could be the disk damage, for that you must do a test, when turning on the computer press the F2 key several times, it enters diagnosis , select the disk, run the test and check if it passes or gives a failure ID.

2016 HP all in one desktop, running Windows 10, had black screen. Monitor will power on and display HP logo for a split second, then power off. I tried the F2 suggestion and ultimately arrived at the Home Screen, but never got the sign-in option. Replaced mouse batteries, just in case, but never got the sign-in prompt. Eventually, monitor powered off and screen is again black. F2 didn’t work this time.
