HP All-in-One - 24-e014

Hello, I am having an issue that I cannot find a solution for anywhere, I have it marked as a hardware issue but it may be software as well, unsure.

I am repairing an HP All-in-One 24-e-014

I am stuck on a screen that is listing basic computer specs and says press ESC to enter startup, upon hitting enter it does nothing but say 'Startup' at the bottom right I cannot enter any BIOS, recovery, or settings

I have tried:

- Resetting CMOS battery (got a brand new one as well)

- Replacing hard drive with a known working one

- Holding win + 8 and win + 8 + f2 to bios recovery, however after the 8 beeps it would boot to the same 'press ESC' screen

- Taking out and putting back in HDD, ram, and CMOS

- Putting one ram in at a time

I believe that it has something to do with the BIOS however I do not know how to flash a new BIOS without being able to enter it. I am currently going to be downloading an HP_Tools USB partition to see if that will help as well.

I can attach any photos, answer any specific questions and do pretty much anything I can.

Greetings @TechJr

Welcome to the Forum.

The eight beep error code normally suggests a BIOS problem.

I checked W10 BIOS updates for this PC at this Site. There are no W11 BIOS updates. W10 BIOS updates should work with W11.

Four older W10 BIOS updates are listed with four different MB IDs (SSID). This suggest HP used four different MBs in this product series.

Maybe the BIOS SSID is silk screened on the MB. Maybe the MB name is silk screened on the MB somewhere. The MB name might help to find the correct MB SSID.

And, over the last few days, I am getting a HP error stating "the site cannot be found" when trying to check various MB specifications using different browsers and search engines. You need to check MB specs to get the MB SSID. I hope HP fixes this soon.

Newer HP BIOS updates (not sure if the older BIOS updates at the first link in this response will work) can sometimes be installed outside of the operating system. Check the HP video at this Site.

The HP Hardware Diagnostics 4-in-1 USB Key may also help.

You might also be able to update the BIOS with the correct older BIOS update, outside of the operating system, using Hiren's Boot (USB)  and the Aptio V AMI Firmware Update Utility.
