Product / Printer Model:  HP DeskJet 4158e All-in-One Printer

Operating System:  ?

Software / Application:  ?

Connection Type:  ?

Content / File Type:  ?

Paper Size / Type: ?

Job type:  Print size too large

=======================================

Can you tell us more about what you are doing / seeing?

Too large "how"?

For example,

  • Too large in the sense that the job is failing due to the amount of data you are trying to print or scan?

  • Too large in the sense that the unknown print application / software you are using is either not accepting the settings or not adjusting the settings as expected?

  • Too large in the sense that the Scale of the print (percentage of 100%)  is too large to fit on one sheet of paper?

  • Too large in the sense that the data is scaled correctly in the job setup but is ballooning into a giant output size?

  • Too large in the sense that the bottom margin is cutting off the bottom of the printed page?

This last one, in fact, is a common result when using a DeskJet Printer and margins that are not supported by the printer hardware.

Printer - Margins

-----------------------------------------------------------------------------

Important

DeskJet printers do not support Borderless

and

DeskJet printers require a larger margin along the bottom edge of the paper

These limitations impact how content is printed on paper.

This DeskJet printer requires a larger margin along the bottom edge (1/2 inch).

Borderless PrintingNo
Print Margin Bottom (A4)12.7 mm
Print Margin Left (A4)3 mm
Print Margin Right (A4)3 mm
Print Margin Top (A4)3 mm

There is no software, firmware, or alignment that changes the larger margin requirement.

The solution to "chopped off" is to keep all data inside of 1/2 inch / 12.7mm on the bottom edge.

This limitation includes all text, images, page numbers, footer information, cells, tables, lines, other notations, and all file types, too.

Create your original document with 12.7mm ( 1/2 inch ) margins.
