HP Envy23
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I am randomly getting Blue Screen of Death with Stop Code: DRIVER IRQL NOT LESS OR EQUAL What Failed: netr28x.sys.

It started occuring a few month ago (May 2020).  Since the computer is a all-in-one Envy, it suspect it would be difficult to replace WiFi adaptor.  Any suggestions?

@Keith2315, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

The netr28x.sys stop code is related to the Ralink wifi adapter your PC has, which is not compatible with the newer builds of W10.

This is the only W10 driver released for that model wifi card which you can try.

5.0.57.0

If your PC already has this driver installed, then I recommend you uninstall the Ralink wifi adapter in the device manager, check the uninstall driver box, shut down the PC, and physically remove the card.

If you connect by wifi, you can replace the internal card with a dual-band USB wifi adapter that has better support for W10.

If your PC has two antenna cables connected to the internal card, let me know and I will suggest a suitable internal wifi card replacement.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
