Hi,
looking for BIOS updates, HP support lists BIOS'es for WIN10 operating systems only.
Last published Version number is
F.35 Rev.A | 12.6 MB | 29. Mrz. 2023 |
Problem is: I'm using WIN11 and PC hardware BIOS shows Version F.45 / 17.04.2023
Is F.45 an official BIOS update by HP? Why isnt it listed then?
Because I do not remember to initiate a BIOS update anyway ....? Is F45 an automated update coming with WIN11 updates?
Thank you for your help!

Hi @stargazer23
Welcome to the HP Forum.
Your PC specs are at this HP Site.
You have the Erica MB. Look in Motherboard description at this site, you will see the MB SSID is 8643.
Only MB SSID 8643 BIOS updates apply to your MB. The latest BIOS update for your MB at this Site is version F.44.
I would guess the F.45 BIOS update came from Windows Update if it did not come from HP Support Assistant.
Opinions or troubleshooting suggestions in this response are provided independently. I am not employed by: HP, Inc. or the HP Forum.

Hello Bill-to,
thanks for your help!
I see, there is only the F.44 version fitting for my Desktop.
But still this version is for WIN10 and I upgraded the PC to WIN11.
Guess, I can't take the F.44 version from December, 2022 .... right?
Who can tell me more about the suspicous F.45 version, which I got recently?
I agree to you, it seems to be a Bios update coming with Win11 updates - but who knows that quite exactly?
It came definitely not from HP support assistance..
I remeber, during an´larger Win11 update, a short time popping up message like "updating Bios now". But that was during the Win11 update and while working with the PC.
Normally, a BIOS update is a little more impressive process you can't misinterpret.
Best regards

Hi @stargazer23
My pleasure.
HP may not have updated your PC's BIOS download site to reflect the latest F.45 BIOS update. Also W10 BIOS updates should work when using W11. The operating systems are similar.
I have seen many HP PCs in this Forum getting HP BIOS updates and other firmware updates from Windows Update.
HP generally precludes a BIOS rollback to a previous version on consumer PCs.
You could try F.44 but it may fail. I would stick with F.45 if the PC is working okay.
