I have 9TOCOAV all-in-one brand new computer.  We had a power outage and now my computer is emitting a loud tone, two long and three short and it won’t boot up.  I tried resetting the surge protector as well as unplugging the power cord and plugging it back in but no luck.  Any suggestions?

Hi @Shak78,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your PC!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check and Reseat Components:

  • Memory Modules: Sometimes power surges can affect the seating of memory modules. Turn off the computer, unplug it, and open the system to reseat the RAM.
  • Internal Connections: Ensure all internal connections, including power cables and data cables are securely connected.

Perform Hard Reset:

  • Turn off the computer.
  • Unplug the power cord from the computer.
  • Disconnect all connected devices (e.g., printers, external drives).
  • Hold down the power button for about 15 seconds.
  • Plug the power cord back in and attempt to start the computer.

Check Power Supply:

  • Make sure the power supply is properly functioning. Power outages can sometimes damage power supplies. Check if the power indicator light is on.

BIOS Reset:

  • Sometimes resetting BIOS settings can help. To do this, you might need to remove the CMOS battery for a few minutes and then re-install it.

I hope this helps.
