Invalid Signature detected. Check Secure Boot Policy in Setup.

So, I can't secure boot. If i disable secure boot, my computer starts up fine. I just can't play games. How do I get secure boot to be enabled but also my computer startup normally?

Hi @Indevnitely,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I Understand your concern about Secure Boot Violation, don’t worry let me help you with this.

To better understand the issue, could you please provide a few more details?

  • Did this issue start after a recent Windows update, BIOS/firmware update, or after installing new hardware/software?
  • Which operating system version are you currently running (Windows 10, Windows 11, etc.)?

Here are a few troubleshooting steps you can try:

  1. Verify BIOS Settings
    • Restart your PC and enter BIOS/UEFI setup (usually by pressing Esc, F10, or Del during startup).
    • Ensure that Secure Boot is enabled and the boot mode is set to UEFI (not Legacy).
  2. Restore Factory Keys
    • In BIOS, look for an option like Restore Factory Keys or Install Default Secure Boot Keys.
    • This resets the Secure Boot database to default, which often resolves signature mismatches.
  3. Update BIOS/UEFI Firmware
    • Visit HP’s support website  https://support.hp.com/  for your specific model and check if a BIOS update is available.
    • Outdated firmware can cause Secure Boot signature errors.
  4. Windows Update
  • Make sure your system is fully updated. Microsoft regularly pushes updates that align with Secure Boot policies.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
