Hello, I need to run my PC in secure boot but I cannot find the option to enable it in BIOS, the option is not even greyed out, it is just not there. What should I do?

What is the full model number or product number of your PC?

PC's that did not come with Windows 8 and newer from the factory will not have a secure boot setting.

The product number is XL508AV and the serial number is CZC2012Z2C, and yes its a PC that came with windows 7, so there is no option to run the PC in secure boot setting?

OK, so you have the same model PC I have...an HP Compaq 8200 Elite Convertible Minitower PC.

The 8200 Elite does not support or have a secure boot setting,

Were you wanting to run W11 on it?

None of the processors meet Microsoft's minimum W11 processor requirements and they also must have a TPM 2.0 security device but the 8200 Elite only has a TPM 1.2 security device.

You still can but you would have to use a workaround that bypasses the W11 hardware checks to do so.

I've been running W11 on mine ever since it came out in 2021 and it works fine.

I actually just needed to run it in secure boot setting because of a game tha t needs it to start but as I can see there is no option to enable it, right?

Unfortunately, it's not be possible in your PC.

There is no secure boot setting.

You need an 8300 Elite or newer PC for it to support secure boot.
