Hi @Dyrewolf55,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I understand you’re seeing a Secure Boot Violation Invalid Signature Detected message on a black screen.

Could you please share your HP laptop or desktop model number and whether you recently made any changes (like BIOS updates, OS reinstallations, or hardware upgrades)?

Here are a few steps you can try right away:

01.Access BIOS Setup

You need to enter the BIOS to check Secure Boot settings.

Restart your PC

Press Esc or F10 repeatedly during startup- Wait until the BIOS/Setup Utility screen appears

02.Check Secure Boot Policy

In BIOS  Navigate to System Configuration → Boot Options- Verify Secure Boot is enabled

If already enabled, try disabling temporarily to see if system boots

Save changes and restart

03.Restore BIOS Defaults

Safe Reset : Incorrect BIOS settings may cause signature errors.

In BIOS Look for Restore Defaults or Load Setup Defaults- Apply default settings

Save and exit BIOS

04.Update BIOS Firmware

Outdated BIOS can cause Secure Boot signature mismatches.

Visit HP’s official support website - https://support.hp.com/

Enter your model number

Download and install the latest BIOS update .

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
