HP All-in-One PC 22-dd0000i (9FK22AV)
Microsoft Windows 11

I went to go log in to my desktop and when I turned it on a red box with an error message saying secure boot violation popped up, I’m unsure how to get rid of it, I tried pressing the esc button multiple times like I have googled or the f10 key and nothing changes.

Hi @socklivesmatter,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I'll be glad to help you.

The Secure Boot Violation message generally indicates that the system firmware is detecting a problem with the Secure Boot policy or security keys used during startup. This can occur after certain firmware, Windows, or boot-related changes.

Since pressing Esc or F10 is not working, please try the following:

  1. Turn the computer off completely by holding the Power button for about 10 seconds.

  2. Disconnect any USB drives, external storage devices, printers, or other peripherals.

  3. Turn the PC back on and immediately tap the Esc key repeatedly (about twice per second).

  4. If the Startup Menu appears, press F10 for BIOS Setup.

Once in BIOS:

  • Navigate to Security > Secure Boot Configuration (names may vary by BIOS version).

  • Select Load HP Factory Default Keys, Restore Factory Keys, or Reset Secure Boot Keys to Factory Defaults if available.

  • Save the changes and exit.

After Windows starts successfully, check for and install the latest BIOS update available for your HP All-in-One PC from Official HP® Support.

If the system still cannot enter BIOS or remains on the Secure Boot Violation screen, please let us know whether the screen displays an exact error such as"Invalid Signature Detected" and, if possible, provide a photo of the message so we can suggest the next steps.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

I'm an HP Employee.
