Hi @Koko_the_Rat

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query.

I understand your HP Omen 25L desktop is displaying a “Secure Boot Violation” error and you are unable to access Windows, it usually indicates that the system’s Secure Boot settings are preventing the operating system from loading. This can happen due to changes in BIOS/UEFI configuration, corrupted boot files, or compatibility issues with recently installed hardware or software.

Reset Secure Boot keys

  • Restart the computer and press Esc repeatedly.
  • Press F10 to enter BIOS setup.
  • Open Security > Secure Boot Configuration.
  • Select Restore Factory Keys or Load Default Keys.
  • Save changes and restart.

Check storage boot configuration

  • Enter BIOS Setup.
  • Open Boot Options.
  • Confirm the Windows Boot Manager is listed first in the boot order.
  • Disable other temporary boot devices if present.
  • Save changes and restart.

Repair Windows boot files

  • Start the computer and press Esc repeatedly.
  • Press F11 for System Recovery.
  • Select Troubleshoot > Advanced options > Startup Repair.
  • Allow the repair process to complete.
  • Restart the computer.
  • Note: Secure Boot Violation messages typically occur when boot files were installed in Legacy mode or Secure Boot keys were cleared.

Reset BIOS/UEFI to Default Settings:

  • Within the BIOS Setup menu, find the option to "Load Setup Defaults" or "Restore Factory Defaults." This option is often under the File or Exit tab.
  • Save the changes and exit the BIOS. This can help restore default settings, including Secure Boot.

Take care and have an amazing day!
