Start Menu Randomly Locks UP after Sleep Mode with the network also losing connection to the web.  The mouse is functionable and I can click and open certain apps but the start menu remains locked in place and I lose access to the internet.  Desktop is 4 months old  and this issue started happening right after I bought it.  There are no error messages and to fix the issue I need to restart or sign out and then sign back in.

Hi@Timster15,

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP Pavilion Desktop PC Start Menu Randomly Locks UP after Sleep Mode.

I have a few recommendations

  • Update your Notebook computer to the latest BIOS from HP.COM.
  • Make sure the Windows and HP support assistant updates are up to date.
  • Go to System and Security and then click on Power Options. In the left pane, click on Choose what the power buttons do. Next, click the Change settings that are currently unavailable link. Under the Shutdown settings section, check the Turn on fast startup (recommended) option to turn on the feature.
  • Try doing Reset PC Keep my files from windows and check if it works.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
