Hi @Ana631ua

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thank you for sharing the image and the steps you've already tried—it's clear you've been thorough and patient, and I’m sorry the system is still stuck at the Startup Menu. When the laptop won’t respond to any key input, even after pressing F11 and removing the battery, it usually points to a firmware-level hang or a blocked boot path.

Let’s work through the most effective recovery steps to bring it back to life.

Steps to resolve Startup Menu freeze

1. Perform a full hardware reset

  • Power off the laptop completely.
  • Disconnect the charger and any connected devices (USB, HDMI, SD card).
  • Press and hold the power button for 30 seconds to drain residual power.
  • Reconnect only the charger and power on the system.

2. Try bypassing the Startup Menu

  • On power-up, immediately press and hold Esc until the Startup Menu appears.
  • Then press Enter once to attempt normal boot.
  • If no response, try pressing F9 to access Boot Device Options and select the internal drive manually.

3. Run System Diagnostics

  • Power on and press F2 repeatedly to launch System Diagnostics.
  • Run the Extensive Test to check memory, storage, and motherboard health.
  • If the test completes successfully, the system hardware is intact.

4. Reset BIOS defaults

  • Power on and press F10 to enter BIOS Setup.
  • Use arrow keys to navigate to Exit > Load Setup Defaults, then select Save and Exit.
  • This clears any misconfigured boot settings.

5. Attempt System Recovery

  • Power on and press F11 repeatedly to launch System Recovery.
  • If recovery does not start, the recovery partition may be inaccessible.
  • In that case, you can create a recovery USB using another PC:
    HP Cloud Recovery Tool

The most effective immediate actions are to perform a full hardware reset, run diagnostics via F2, and reset BIOS settings via F10. These steps usually restore boot functionality when the system is stuck at the Startup Menu.
