Given the date of your post, I would have expected someone to respond to it before this -- but since that has not happened, I will take a shot at it ...
A virus is not going to stop your PC from starting up -- so having an antivirus is of no help in this situation.
Also, what do you mean by having "insurance"? If you're saying the PC is under warranty, then say that.
