Hi:

It appears that any HP AIO PC with a MonkD motherboard such as yours has, the latest BIOS update fails.

There has to be 30 - 40 posts about this problem in the last two weeks.

The partial solution to the problem is found in this discussion.

Solved: Re: HP 24-DF0040 BIOS update fail loop - HP Support Community - 8851023

Link to the F.41 BIOS update.

https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softpaq/sp141501-142000/sp141980.exe

The is link explains how to create a BIOS recovery flash drive.

I've already provided the BIOS file you need, which is good for either W10 or W11, so you can ignore the part regarding how to find the driver you need.

Updating the BIOS on HP Consumer Desktops outside of Windows 11| HP Computers| HP Support - YouTube

Here is how to use the BIOS recovery flash drive after it has been successfully created:

After you create the USB BIOS recovery drive, follow the instructions that show up after the USB recovery drive has been successfully created.

1. Power off the device to be recovered.

2. Insert the USB flash drive into a USB port.

3. Power on the device.

4. The device may reboot up to 3 times with indicator lights on the keyboard flashing, or the screen appearing blank for short time.

Hopefully, that will fix the problem for you.

It didn't work for me, the file you sent me doesn't open, I tried other firmware Bios of models almost the same as mine a year behind but it doesn't work, I tried to restore the previous Bios that it is supposed to have and it can't because it is corrupt. There is no support and downloads, nothing appears about my PC model, it is ridiculous that there is no support, incredible, if there was support and the BIOS appeared and I downloaded it, that problem would already be solved, but I still have my computer damaged because from an automatic update of Windows Updates

Sorry, that didn't work for you.

There were a couple of folks that could not open the file to create the recovery drive.

This long discussion that I participated in, describes that.

I have no idea why the file won't open for some folks.

Re: bios update fail - HP Support Community - 8853190

Another person couldn't open the file and then used a different PC and it worked.

This person had no problems.

But I agree with you that this shouldn't have happened.

If I had one of those models, I would be very upset.

Hopefully if you can get that file to create the recovery drive like I did, then you should be able to restore the BIOS.

Since I don't work for or represent HP, all I can do is to wish you good luck in trying to get the PC to work again.

You may want to contact HP support and file a complaint about this mess.

Many Thanks, Mate !

It really did the trick on a bricked 24-df0030 MonkD Motherboard : it was trapped on a corrupted bios update loop hell.

Don't do any of the HP Firmware update that is pushed through windows update via optional updates and you will be fine.
